The XC, XJ, and XJ MISS helmets are developed using carefully selected high-performance materials to provide the ideal balance of protection, comfort, and lightweight performance.

The outer shell is crafted from pure carbon fibre, an advanced composite material renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. This ultra-light yet highly resistant construction enhances rider comfort while delivering superior impact protection.

Inside, the helmet features a variable-density polystyrene shell specifically engineered to absorb and dissipate impact energy more effectively. By using multiple foam densities, the helmet is able to optimise shock absorption across different impact zones for increased safety.

To ensure a precise and secure fit, the helmets are available in two shell sizes (M and L). Each shell is compatible with 5 to 6 interchangeable inner liners, allowing riders to customise the fit to the exact shape of their head for enhanced stability and long-lasting comfort.

The size range covers 53 cm to 61 cm, offering a tailored fit for a wide variety of riders.

Samshield helmets are designed to offer a close, secure, and comfortable fit, with interchangeable liners allowing for a more personalised sizing experience. For the best fit, we recommend carefully following the Samshield size guide, as the helmet should feel snug and even around the head without pressure points. Samshield helmets are certified to several leading international equestrian safety standards, depending on the specific model and market. These include:
ASTM F1163 – American safety standard for equestrian helmets
SEI Certification – Independent Safety Equipment Institute verification alongside ASTM testing
VG1 01.040 2014-12 – European riding helmet safety standard
PAS015 – One of the highest British equestrian safety standards
EN Standards – European conformity and impact protection requirements
These certifications test helmets for impact absorption, penetration resistance, stability, crush resistance, and chin strap strength to ensure rider protection in the event of a fall. Samshield also carries out additional testing with independent laboratories such as CRITT in France to exceed standard safety requirements.

For safety reasons, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on riding helmets or any other safety equipment once purchased. This policy ensures that every helmet sold meets the highest safety standards and has not been compromised in any way.
