The tongue port bar has an especially flattened shape to the port. This gives the tongue optimum room. Many horses respond to this with improved suppleness and increased chewing. This bit is also very well suited to horses that play with their tongues, trying to get their tongue over the bit. won’t tolerate pressure on the tongue and for those who tend to stick their tongue above the bit as the port effectively prevents this. With a height of 30 mm the port is fully permissible under German equestrian sport regulations.
This mouthpiece is thus eminently suited to horses that do not tolerate traditionally shaped bits due to the pressure on the tongue and react by head-shaking and the like. The Kimblewick bit is an effective combination of a lever effect on the horse‘s lower jaw, pressure on the poll and change of position inside the horse‘s mouth. Three different buckling options allow the bit to be fine tuned. The sturdy side pieces of the bit provide a certain weight, which ensures a steadier position in the mouth.
