The outer shell of the XC/ XJ and XJ MISS is made of pure carbon fiber, a composite material providing an unbeatable strength / weight ratio.

The inner shell is made of polystyrene with variable density providing a better dissipation of the energy produced upon impact.

2 shell sizes are available (M and L).

Each shell can accommodate 5 to 6 inner foams (liner) of different sizes in order to obtain a perfect adjustment to the rider’s head.

The size grid is available from 53 to 61.

Samshield helmets are designed to offer a close, secure, and comfortable fit, with interchangeable liners allowing for a more personalised sizing experience. For the best fit, we recommend carefully following the Samshield size guide, as the helmet should feel snug and even around the head without pressure points. Samshield helmets are certified to several leading international equestrian safety standards, depending on the specific model and market. These include:
ASTM F1163 – American safety standard for equestrian helmets
SEI Certification – Independent Safety Equipment Institute verification alongside ASTM testing
VG1 01.040 2014-12 – European riding helmet safety standard
PAS015 – One of the highest British equestrian safety standards
EN Standards – European conformity and impact protection requirements
These certifications test helmets for impact absorption, penetration resistance, stability, crush resistance, and chin strap strength to ensure rider protection in the event of a fall. Samshield also carries out additional testing with independent laboratories such as CRITT in France to exceed standard safety requirements.

For safety reasons, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on riding helmets or any other safety equipment once purchased. This policy ensures that every helmet sold meets the highest safety standards and has not been compromised in any way.
